Still a Believer!!!
I love that Kaiden is almost 10 years old and he still believes in Santa.
Of course he has good reason to.
Kaiden has actually seen Santa flying across the sky with his reindeer. I think he was about 3 years old when he saw them out his bedroom window. Very Cool. His Dad saw Santa in his lounge room in England when he was about 5 years old.
I unfortunately have not :-(
After this photo was taken we were walking away when Kaiden suddenly realised he forgot to tell Santa where we will be this Christmas. Santa would come to our apartment here in Houston but we wouldn't be there. Disaster!!! So he ran back, waited until the next little girl and boy had finished talking to Santa and said "Excuse me Santa. I forgot to tell you something"
Kaiden said Santa said "What did you forget mate?"
"I forgot to tell you we would be at the Woolley's mountain house in Colorado"
Santa replied with a "No worries" and we left feeling relieved we were able to correct that most important bit of information. Phew!!!
Kaiden said to me that Santa must have known he was an Aussie or been an Aussie himself because he called him mate and said no worries.
Kaiden isn't silly. He knows that who he saw today wasn't the 'real' Santa. He is one of the many many helpers Santa needs to gather all of the information from the kids about presents and the behaviour report from their parents for Christmas. He is always careful not to say this too loudly in line as he knows there are younger, less wise kids around and he doesn't want to spoil it for them. So thoughtful!
He wasn't the real Santa but he was still afforded the reverence and respect of the 'real' Big Guy.
Love that Christmas is alive and well in our home.
