Go the Broncos! !

Simon, Kelly, Kaiden, James & Sarah

Today we took Sarah to her 1st NFL game. I must also note that it was Kaiden & my 1st NFL game as well. The Denver Broncos were playing the San Diego Chargers. Apparently last year the Chargers killed the Broncos so there was a lot of feeling in the air. The attendance was 74,956 so the atmosphere was brilliant & of course the 4 of us got right into it. The final score was 39 to 38. The Broncos scored the winning conversion with 16 secs to go. The stadium erupted & we all went nuts. It was such a great afternoon.

The Broncos Quarterback. Kaiden kept yelling out, "oh, there I am. I'm watching myself" When the broncos were down by 8 with 3 1/2 mins to go he said, "They should put me in, I could win if for them" The thing was, he was serious. He wouldn't know one end from a football field from the other, bless his little soul.

This is one of my favourite pictures . . . .

Kaiden loves his buddy Lica. Paul Licuria has been so nice to Kaiden that he really believes they are buddies. Lica has writen him a letter and recognises him when he's come up to say hello at training and functions. He even remembered Kaiden's bithday and asked him about it while at a Collingwood training session. For someone of his profile to give so much attention and time to a little kind and really make him feel like they are mates, is brilliant. It shows what type of man he really is. And for a mother there is nothing better than having your child feel like he really is something special.
Kaiden was devistated when I told him that Lica was retiring and wouldn't be playing for the Magpies anymore. If you think I am exaggerating, think again. He literally burst into tears and said "Why Mummy, why? He still plays really really really good" He only calmed down when I explained and said that he would still be around the club and he could see him at the VFL games. I had to promise that we would go to one of the VFL agames next time we are in Melbourne. I love that he is passionate about the Magpies. He has black and white in his blood. That makes me smile.
