Snorkeling off Cozumel - 12 May 2008

We went snorkeling off the island of Cozumel. Cozumel is about a 50 min boat ride from Playa Del Carmen. It is a popular place for snorkeling. The locals were telling us that their reef is second only to ours - The Great Barrier Reef in size. We headed off in a glass bottem boat to the reef to the sound of a local ambulance in the back ground. Kaiden didn't want to go snorkeling as it was pretty deep & I think he really was thinking we might get a visit from a shark or two. But after some gentle persuasion from Mum & Dad topped with lots of reassurance, he was good to go. He was so cute. He was having such a great time watching all the fish swimming around us. He really couldn't believe it. He said "This is awesome, thanks for bringing me here" His excitement just topped off a brilliant afternoon for Simon & I. It was brilliant!
If you were wondering where Rob & Mollie were while we were snorkeling - They were waiting for us in the Smallest Hard Rock Cafe in the world. Rob didn't have a great boat ride over, so after checking out the pavement for a good half an hour & having the local law enforcement check him out along with the local paramedics. Remember that ambulance we heard? Turned out it was for Rob! He likes to make an impression where ever he goes. Anyway, they cooled off (& Rob caught some zzzz) at the HRC.
