Skiing with the Scotts

Kaiden, Jarod & Liam

Yesterday we went skiing at Breckenridge with friends. We had a great time. Kaiden loved that he had friends to ski with. "I've never been skiing with friends before!" He was excited!

Something that was an eye opener to us was that Kaiden is skiing really well. We thought he was doing great anyway but going with other kids gave us something to compare his newly acquired skills with. I think this is Liam's 1st year and I think Kaiden has been more than him so that stands to reason but Jarod has been skiing for a few years. Jarod is good but just more cautious than Kaiden that is all. Which isn't really a bad thing at all. We all had a great time and for us it was great to spend the day on the slopes with some great friends.

This is one of my favourite pictures . . . .

Kaiden loves his buddy Lica. Paul Licuria has been so nice to Kaiden that he really believes they are buddies. Lica has writen him a letter and recognises him when he's come up to say hello at training and functions. He even remembered Kaiden's bithday and asked him about it while at a Collingwood training session. For someone of his profile to give so much attention and time to a little kind and really make him feel like they are mates, is brilliant. It shows what type of man he really is. And for a mother there is nothing better than having your child feel like he really is something special.
Kaiden was devistated when I told him that Lica was retiring and wouldn't be playing for the Magpies anymore. If you think I am exaggerating, think again. He literally burst into tears and said "Why Mummy, why? He still plays really really really good" He only calmed down when I explained and said that he would still be around the club and he could see him at the VFL games. I had to promise that we would go to one of the VFL agames next time we are in Melbourne. I love that he is passionate about the Magpies. He has black and white in his blood. That makes me smile.
