Skiing . . . .

We went skiing up at Breckenridge on the week end and Kaiden came out with some funny things so I thought I would write them down . . . .

Kaiden and I were waiting in the line for the main chair lift when Kaiden said "Mum . . . . You know the cafe restaurant at the top of the mountain where we get off the lift?" YES "Well, if I fall off the chair lift, you just wait for me at the restaurant up there and I will just meet you there. OK" My response was . . . Are you planning to fall off the chair lift? Thankfully he said " Oh, no but just in case, you meet me there OK!"

Thankfully I didn't need to meet him anywhere.

Kaiden has his name stuck on his helmet from when he was in ski school and we just haven't bothered to take it off. So again we were waiting in line to jump on one of the chair lifts when the attendant says "Hi Kaiden, how you going buddy?" As we jumped on the lift Kaiden says quite adamantly "Quite a lot of people know me here now don't they!"

Funny Boy.

Still hasn't realised his name is on his helmet for all to see.

This is one of my favourite pictures . . . .

Kaiden loves his buddy Lica. Paul Licuria has been so nice to Kaiden that he really believes they are buddies. Lica has writen him a letter and recognises him when he's come up to say hello at training and functions. He even remembered Kaiden's bithday and asked him about it while at a Collingwood training session. For someone of his profile to give so much attention and time to a little kind and really make him feel like they are mates, is brilliant. It shows what type of man he really is. And for a mother there is nothing better than having your child feel like he really is something special.
Kaiden was devistated when I told him that Lica was retiring and wouldn't be playing for the Magpies anymore. If you think I am exaggerating, think again. He literally burst into tears and said "Why Mummy, why? He still plays really really really good" He only calmed down when I explained and said that he would still be around the club and he could see him at the VFL games. I had to promise that we would go to one of the VFL agames next time we are in Melbourne. I love that he is passionate about the Magpies. He has black and white in his blood. That makes me smile.
