Cabo, Mexico . . . .

When you come out of customs at the airport and walk through the doors you get bombarded by people trying to make deals with you to come and see their time-share complex. It is crazy and these guys don't like taking no for an answer. But the thing is the more you say no the more incentives they offer you. So we said yes (like we had a choice) and in return we got free shuttle back to the airport, 3 tickets to go snorkeling and $200 cash. Now it isn't bad but we felt like we worked for our incentives. At least Simon did anyway. The property we visited was beautiful and of course I was no help to Simon when it came time to say "Thank you but No Thank you" It was all so gorgeous and wonderful that if I had of gone on my own we'd be the proud owners of a time-share in Cabo right now. Thank heavens Simon is the more grounded one in this relationship! Thanks Honey!!

So here is my timeshare that we should have bought and would have bought but couldn't afford if I had of gone on the tour alone . . . .

Check out the little towel people on the chairs in my bedroom.

Our beautiful view with our own private pool.

Oh and one of my favourite details was what they did with their towels. It was so cute. They would fold all the towels into little animals. All sorts of birds, elephants, little people. It was very cute and I am sure it would have been worth all the thousands we would have had to pay to enjoy them. Arhh, the details . . . . . Who knew I had a weakness for little towel elephants.

The cute little snail and of course, my elephant.

SNORKELING TRIP

One of the 'gifts' for taking the time-share tour was a 3 hour snorkeling trip. It was great. We met our cruiser at the marina and headed off down and around the peninsula. The trip included an open bar for the duration and Mexican snacks for the return trip home which was greatly needed after snorkeling in the Sea of Cortez. Before we went I made up some fishy snacks. Very technical - an empty water bottle filled with crushed crackers - add sea water and there you have it. Fishy snacks that worked wonders for bringing schools and schools of fish our way while snorkeling. It was brilliant.

Kaiden, of course befriended the only other child on board. Zach. He and Kaiden became firm friends right away. As it turned out, Zach's dad is an Aussie from Qld. He married a Canadian so they are based there but they travel all over as they are in development. It was fun talking 'Oz' and 'home' with someone that actually knew what you were talking about. They were a great couple to chat with and Kaiden had a friend to hang with. Perfect.

So on the way home the crew got everyone up on the top deck and asked about birthdays, weddings, anniversaries etc. Anyway Kaiden yells out "It is my Mum and Dad's anniversary trip" So they got us up front along with 2 other couples celebrating their anniversaries. One couple was 8, we of course were 10 and another couple were celebrating 25. So they asked us all to say something about our respective spouses and my lovely hubby said all the right things. Bless him. The women arhhhed and the men, well the men were men. Anyway, after all that the ladies were asked to sit down and the men were coerced into a friendly competition. The guy in charge got one other guy to join in making four. After a demonstration, the boys were to do a Mexican hat dance followed by a sexy dance, a who's your papa dance then washed down with a Mexican scream. Simon had the toughest job because he had to go first. Well, my shy reserved husband just went for it. He was awesome!!

I know that I am biased but he really was the best of the four. After all four had their turn the boat was asked if there was anyone that thought they could do any better. Guess who raised their hand? Yep . . . . it doesn't take a genius to guess does it. Kaiden!! So it was Kaiden's turn. He danced his little heart out to the roar and cheer of the crowd. It should be said he wasn't asked to do the sexy or who's your papa dance.
I tell you what though, his Mexican scream was by far the loudest but we are talking the scream of a 6 year old boy. His voice is a long way off from dropping an octave or three, so when I say his scream was loud. It was blood curdling . . . . piercingly loud. I think they heard him on the mainland. Then it was time to vote. The crowd favourite to be the winner. Again, it doesn't take a genius to figure out who the crowd favourite was. Yep, Kaiden. Honestly, Simon was clearly second. No bias. Promise! Kaiden was thrilled to say the least. He won a prize and everything. We got to all go in the bridge and Kaiden got to sit in the Captain's chair. They took a photo of us and they gave us an 8 x 10 complimentary at the end of our trip. Like I said, Kaiden was thrilled. He later told his Dad that he probably won because he is more healthy than he is. Nice. Out of the mouth of babes. We then just sat up at the bow and just enjoyed the water and the sun until we reached the marina. It was the perfect way to finish off a great day trip.

How funny is Jamie Lucas Scott?? Oh sorry...I mean Kaiden. ha ha

You need to start harnessing that energy and making some cash out of him. I'm sure there is some drama over there that needs a gregarious Aussie kid!!

Loving the trip tales so far. Am very jealous!! xoxo

Ok...so I am a little worried about your obsession with the towel animals!!

So taken are you with these things...that James hasn't had a mention at all. I'll bet that fuzzy green bear is feeling none too happy with the boring towel creatures!!

Happy Annibersary!! (said in my spanish accent)
