Lake Louise & Banff, Canada

Took a little trip into Canada.

We got to Lake Louise around mid morning, so we had the day to explore which was good because the weather was being a little temperamental. We got ourselves organised and decided to check out Morraine Lake which is just down the mountain a little way. It too is just beautiful.

Morraine Lake

Later in the day we decided to do the hike along the edge of Lake Louise. It really is a beautiful place & the hike was really easy going. We went all the way to the end (2 kms) & up into the start of the mountain. We didn't go too far up the mountain as it was starting to get late. Kaiden still managed to find all of the clues along the way & beat the other teams back to the Chateau (Amazing Race) If only there were a million $$ waiting for us as we triumphantly finished our 6 km adventure. The next day we took the hike to the tea rooms which is was a much harder hike and a little longer (6.8 km) We played a game with Kaiden where he would earn 10 c for every person that we passed on the trail. He was awesome, cause it wasn't an easy hike for those little legs but he did it and earned himself $3.1o in the process. Good job pumpkin!! The view from up there was amazing & as we climbed higher the lake was more stunning. It is hard to describe it's colour and even the photos don't really show it's true brilliance but it was truly breathtaking. It sounds kinda hokey but it really was. I could never get sick of looking at the lakes & the mountains. They are truly gorgeous.

the Chateau at Lake Louise

Then from there we drove to Banff and stayed in the Banff Springs Hotel. Splashed out a little we did . . . It is a beautiful. A huge Castle & it's decor is that of a medieval Castle as well. Very cool. Our room was not as grand as the Chateau but still VERY nice! (Didn't take any photo's this time Mum) Like Lake Louise the Hotel was like a little village with everything that you could want & a whole bunch you would like but just can't afford. It was fun exploring all the little & not so little hall ways. We decided that we would just like to travel & stay at Fairmont Hotels around the world. Yeah, I could get used to that . . . . Need to check those lotto numbers!!

Banff Springs Hotel
We had spent a bit of time in Banff before so we didn't really hang out too long. We had lunch at some little place in town & checked out some shops. Kaiden got some new hiking shoes, you know, when all else fails . . . . shop. We did check out Canada Place which is a beautiful old building at the end of Main street. It has beautiful gardens and house the history of Canada. Pretty interesting. I love Canada. It's a pretty easy going country with easy going people.

Man....I am even more jealous. But I guess the only way for me to do what you are doing, is to set foot on a plane....not too sure about that!

Oh well. Enjoy and keep up the great posts. xoxo
