While we've been here in Colorado, Rocky Mountain National Park has become one of our favourite places. It is just beautiful. In August 07 we took Kaiden camping and fishing for the 1st time. He LOVED it to say the least and waking up to a deer and her calf grazing out side our tent in the morning was amazing. Although, all didn't go as smoothly as we would have liked. We took Kaiden to this beautiful mountain lake to try out his new rod and real. Very Exciting stuff. We set ourselves up by the side of the Lake and settled in for the afternoon. For some reason Kaiden and Simon had switch seats. With out warning, all of a sudden Kaiden ended up face down in the lake with Simon's camp chair on top of him. Luckily the lake really wasn't that deep around the edges and he really only gave himself a fright and was soaking wet. If only it were Kaiden and the camp chair who had gone for an unexpected swim that day. Simon had been taking photos of everything like he normally does, only this time he had left his beloved camera in one of the pockets of his chair. When Kaiden and the chair went for a swim, so did Simon's Sony Camera. His pride and joy. He was up and onto his feet like a rocket . . . . not to save his child (although to be fare, Mum had already done that) but to save his camera. Needless to say, after much effort the camera was unable to be revived. Thus ended our day of fishing and Simon's Camera. It was a quiet camp fire that night to say the least. Mind you Simon's devistation was quickly turned to joy when he realised this meant he could 'up grade' with a legitimate reason. Funny how things work out hey!
